FOR CONSCIOUS SUSTAINABILITY
Our Commitment
We don't know a different way to do it. Sustainability has been a must for us since the very beginning of our story. Even when we didn’t know it or mean it, this is why respecting people and the environment is paramount here at Filtrade.
Knowing the consequences and impact of your actions in the world is a powerful tool. It allows you to choose which side to be on. As a company, we have a great responsibility, we must do our best to implement strategies that allow us to make our contribution greater and greater.
Roadmap
1.No boundaries
Being open to new projects and countries is at the core of Filtrade, a company that never ceases to acquire new business contacts, even with entities that are geographically and culturally very distant from Italy.
2.Traceability
We choose to work only with producers who, just like us, pay attention to environmental and social issues, but also respect international regulations aimed at protecting the quality of the supply chain. Above all, we provide our clients (both brands and consumers) with tools to track the origin of the materials used.
3.Qualitative protection
We buy both virgin and recycled yarns. All our yarns meet the Oekotex Class 1 standard. Our recycled and regenerated yarns are GRS certified (those that are at least 50% recycled materials) and come from companies whose supply chain traceability is fully certified. In any case we always make sure that the post consumer materials are actually recycled and sustainably processed.
4.Environment-friendly management
Our commitment begins with respect. We respect all sector-specific environmental good practices, but we also save energy, invest in innovation, believe in research and strive to find ways to deal with the issue of the "quality" of recycled materials to reduce pollution.
Certifications
ISO 9001
The ISO 9001 standard establishes the essential requirements that an organization's Quality Management System must demonstrate to fulfill in order to ensure the level of quality of its products and services declared both internally and in the marketplace.
Oeko Tex Standard 100
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety. Find out here what STANDARD 100 means and why it is worth checking for this label when buying textiles.
If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless for human health.
Global Recycle Standard
"Only the products which are covered by a valid Transaction certificate are GRS certified."
GRS is the leading international standard for the sustainable production of textiles from recycled materials and recognizes the importance of recycling for the growth of a low-impact production and consumption model.
The standard requires the issuance of a third-party verified environmental statement that ensures the presence of recycled materials within the textile product, traceability throughout the production process, restrictions on the use of chemicals, and compliance with environmental and social criteria through to the labeling of the finished product. GRS certifies textiles containing at least 20 percent pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled material.Read more about our GRS certification.
UNI EN ISO 14001: 2004 standard
The Environmental Management System set out in ISO 14001 is based on legal compliance, continual improvement and prevention of pollution. The ISO 14001 standard leaves an organisation free to set which and how many environmental objectives it wishes to pursue, depending on its economic circumstances and current internal technological sophistication.
Love for the local community
"We feel it is our duty to give something back to the territory."
We love our people and lands. The Prato industrial district has always been very active, and we are very grateful for this. This is where we understood how important it is to be able to say that our products are “Made in Italy,” and it's also where we gained plenty of experience and professionalism. We want to maintain our headquarters in Prato, employ qualified local workers and contribute to the improvement and overall growth of this area.
We like to set (and keep) our sights on the entire world, but our roots will always be firmly here, in Prato, where it all began.
Environmental labeling of packaging
Transparency and rigor are two among the core values that are part of in every aspect of our production process. We are therefore keen to inform you about the classification and destination of the components of our packaging.
